DELIVERABLES:

I provided a "call-to-action-focused prototype" to a third-party company for Dirt and Turf. It resulted in an uncommon increase of new customers prior to the start of the season.

As a UX design and brand consultant I specialize in helping companies create a strong, consistent brand identity and user experience. My services include input on brand strategy, designing a user-friendly user experiences, team structures, and direction on engaging visuals that reflect the company’s mission and values.

Introduction: Dirt and Turf's Lawn Care Services

Dirt and Turf is a lawn care company that provides economical treatments without compromising quality. They specialize in fertilizer, weed control, and seed applications, and offer soil laboratory testing to analyze the best approach for individual soil requirements. Their team is dedicated to providing exceptional service, personalized attention, and top-notch products.

Problem Statement: Enhancing Website Content

Dirt and Turf was in the process of making changes to their website, but the hierarchy of content created by a third party business management was confusing for visitors. Multiple types of content were diminishing the professional brand image of the company. Dirt and Turf needed a way to organize their website’s content with branded relevant information that was easy to find and maintain. The website also needed to emphasize the call to action of clicking on the free estimate button.

Design Process: Creating a User-Friendly Experience

To address the problem, the design process began with an audit of the existing content, structure, and design elements. This allowed us to identify areas of improvement and develop a plan to create a more user-friendly experience.

The next step was to create a wireframe of the website. This provided a visual representation of the proposed structure and content, and allowed us to make changes and adjustments as needed.

Once the wireframe was approved, our meetings moved on to the design phase. This included creating a brand style guide, defining colors, fonts, images, and icons. The goal was to create a cohesive look and feel that would be consistent across pages. The final step, launch the website and monitor user responses through Google Analytics.

Conclusion: Achieving a Successful Website Redesign

The redesign of the website was a success. The new website was easier to navigate and the content was more organized. The brand style guide provided a consistent look and feel across all pages. The usability testing revealed that users were able to find the information. This resulted in an unexpected occurrence where users started early signing up for services in February.
